These were another set of display shelving units for Waiting for the Sun, a sunglass company based out of France, through a client out in NY. Solid walnut with laser cut logos on the sided. They are meant to hold about 18 pairs of glasses.

A new project I have been working on…

Here are a few quick snapshhots of some of the projects I worked on while at Vintage Material Supply Co. A lot of tables for Whole Foods, and even more doors for a private residence. I enjoyed working for the guys there, great people.
Very soon I will be making the trip up north to Wisconsin, eventually settling in Minneapolis later this summer. I will be stopping at a few streams along the way. I am particularly interested in Crane Creek right outside of Crane, Missouri; it is home to the very beautiful and rare McCloud River Redband Trout (Oncorhyncus mykiss stonei). This summer will be filled with countless hours of fishing for little brook trout in Wisconsin, and I cannot wait.

The cabinets are completed! The pulls have not been finalized yet, and Chap and Maura still have a bit of work to do once I leave Austin. They are having it reupholstered, and will be finishing some of the details, such as the pulls and leather straps that will hold the hatchet to the side cabinet. This project has been awesome, a lot was learned along the way. Now my part is done and I can’t wait to see it completed in August when they drive up to Wisconsin.

I am a designer and craftsman. My specialties lie in the fields of furniture and product design. Trained as a furniture maker and designer, I am inspired by an abundance of sources; pulling energy from people like Ernst Haeckel, Finn Juhl, Dieter Rams, Jens Risom, and Sam Maloof. More importantly the decisions I make are informed by things in everyday life and the natural world. Grabbing from anywhere, I interpret data and visual information in a way that translates into my own work, it does not matter where it comes from but what I can learn from these interactions.
